Are the Leafs going to make it to the playoffs?

Nope, they didn't make it. In the article below we discussed their chances before it became obvious that they will be out for the third year in a row...

Mats Sundin and Vesla Toskala keep the hope alive for the Leafs who were falling a lot mid-season.

Sundin finished the Leafs three-game road trip with eight points, including a goal and two assists Saturday night in a 3-2 win over the Washington Capitals. Down at the other end of the ice, Toskala's brilliant work in the Leafs goal frustrated the shooters once again and the Leafs returned home with from their trip with two wins and an overtime loss.

One has to wonder: is the Maple Leafs a one-man-show? What would happen if Sundin missed a game or two? And heaven forbid, Toskala wouldn't be able to make it either?

"No doubt in my mind he's one of the best goalies in the league," said teammate Matt Stajan. "Not only does he give us a chance to win every night, he steals some games for us.You can't ask for him to do much more."
The 30-year-old Finn has made 17 straight starts and 23 of 24 and is playing the best hockey since joining the Leafs last summer.

The big question is? Can the Leafs get ahead of the Flyers who are currently the last team who would make the playoffs if the season ended now (March 4).
